Who Is Luizão? West Ham's Dawson replacement set to join in January!
Covering São Paulo centre half Luizão and West Ham's interest, perhaps becoming the Craig Dawson replacement!
West Ham centre half Craig Dawson seems set to leave the club this coming January, with Tier 1 insider ExWHUEmployee breaking the news that he has personal issues which could pave way for him to leave the club in January, or at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Also broke by ExWHUEmployee, it is believed that Craig Dawson lives in Manchester and has to drive to Rush Green several times a week for training, which is where the personal issues are believed to have came from. It is said that he is tired of the commute from Manchester to London and is considering a move away, this news being broke in late August.
Potential suitors for Dawson would primarily include Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa, with Wolves being the more interested of the two. Dawson’s departure would be a heavy blow to the club, as he has played a large part in our success since joining in 2020 on loan from Watford.
West Ham have already began looking for a replacement however, and reports are suggesting that they have already found their man - Luizão, a young centre half from Brazilian outfit São Paulo.
West Ham have allegedly already signed Luizão on a pre-contract agreement, with the Brazilian set to join in January, when his deal with São Paulo expires. Goal Brasil have claimed that Luizão is ‘practically certain’ to be leaving São Paulo in January.
Luizão may be seen as one for the future, being just 20 years old and playing just 20 first team games for the 41-time champions of Brazil, though he bagged 1 goal in those 20 appearances. Luizão is seen as a rather versatile player, showing he can play in the centre half role, as well as a left back, providing cover to a number of players. David Moyes will likely be very happy with this versatility, as West Ham have had a number of crucial injury problems over the years, and with Nayef Aguerd being injured already, Angelo Ogbonna having injury problems (and his contract expiring next summer), and the loss of Craig Dawson, Luizão will certainly be a great addition to this squad.
We could perhaps even see more signings of this nature too, as it was reported by on Twitter that Rob Newman has built West Ham’s scouting network in Brazil!
